Drop Off Dive
Hop on a Jukung, a little traditional fishing boat, for a short ride to Amed’s drop off which is rich and abundant in fish life . Starting the dive on a gentle slopping reef gradually make your way to the impressive wall that drops off to 40+ meters. Look under the overhangs on the wall for hidden moray eels, pipe fish, nudibranch and shrimps. Once at the corner feel the sensation of being surrounded by swarms of fish and keep your eyes open for passing reef sharks, big groupers and the occasional eagle ray. Once back at the outside reef enjoy the gorgeous pink seafans and huge sponges.

Pyramid Dive
The Pyramids in Amed offers some interesting coral reef where you will find some pyramid structures and sculptures underwater. These structures are being used to help regenerate the coral reef, which as you will observe works perfectly. They are now home for many juvenile fish, frogfish and the glass fish seem to love hiding inside. On the surrounding slopes you will find a wide-range of marine life from macro subjects such as ornate ghost pipefish and frogfish to larger marine life including sharks and turtles. The dive site can be reached by traditional boat or is just a few minutes from the shore.

Japanese Wreck Dive
The Wreck at Banyuning near Amed is an excellent dive site. This beautiful shallow wreck lying just a few meters off the shore of Lipah Bay beach make a perfect afternoon dive. The wreck itself is buzzing with fish life and the surrounding reef full of moray eels, sweetlips, pufferfish, porcupine fish and octopus. The waters and marine life in this area are rich and abundant as they are constantly being fed by the nutrients brought in by the forces of the Indonesian Through Flow currents.

Gili Selang
Is always full of surprises along with its beautiful corals and sponges. There are good chances to encounter black and grey reef sharks, barracudas and big schools of fish if the conditions are correct. The cold upwellings from the deep will also bring the famous Hammerhead sharks into view. The current can be very tricky on this site so is only recommend only for experienced divers!

Gili Tepekong
This little island is located not far from Amuk Bay and is a single peak exposed to current coming from the North and drop off’s to 60m +, making this site exclusively for experienced divers.

If the current and conditions permit, you pass through a small cave and come out the other side onto a magnificent vertical wall. Once you turn around and arrive back to the coral reef, you’ll be amazed by its excellent health and beauty, and the sheer quantity of fish. There is even the possibility to see some pelagics such as black and white tip reef sharks, barracuda, stingrays, and sometimes even the jaw-dropping Mola Mola (Sunfish), particularly from July to October.

Thanks to the current, the visibility is often very good. However, Tepekong is a dive site where conditions can change very quickly and we prefer to wait for favorable conditions before jumping in and diving on this site.
